Carla Esparza Bio
California native Carla Esparza first started down the road of martial arts when she began wrestling for her high school team in Redondo Beach. During her all American college wrestling career, Esparza began taking Jiu Jitsu before turning pro in February of 2010.
Just under three years later, after fighting some of the best female fighters on the planet, Esparza captured the inaugural Invicta FC Straweight Championship when she defeated Bec Hyatt at Invicta FC 4 in January 2013.
Known as the “Cookie Monster,” Esparza brings a strong wrestling base to go along with a rapidly improving striking game with her each time she steps into the Invicta Fighting Championships’ cage.
