“I am super excited to re-sign with Invicta! Since I fought last time for Invicta, I wished to be back. To fight for Invicta means to fight the world’s best female fighters of my weight category. That is what I want and train for.”

5 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT SIMONA SOUKUPOVA
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY OF TRAINING LIKE?
I like to go running in the morning (shuttles or sprints) and then conditioning or just conditioning (sets of bodyweight exercises). If my work allows me I like to do morning or lunch time training but it is mostly evening training I need to stick to – usually technique and sparring or specific sparring, then some conditioning at the end. I tend to do short, explosive sessions rather than long ones now and prefer bodyweight exercises to doing weights.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU AS A FIGHTER
The journey I take as a professional fighter, endless learning process, systematic goal settings, and performance accomplishments, the feeling of unity between my club and me, and the intense atmosphere at the club I experience when getting ready for a fight.
WHAT GOT YOU INTO MARTIAL ARTS?
My first experience of training. Our coach got us to shadow in front of mirrors. I loved the feeling I had from the way my body moved. I was not thinking about hitting somebody I just enjoyed the motion. It’s nothing like it. The more I learn the better the experience gets.
