5 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT JADE RIPLEY
WHAT WAS YOUR CAREER BEFORE FIGHTING? DO YOU STILL MAINTAIN THAT JOB?
I have been a full time firefighter since 2013 for a KC Metro department. I am currently still employed there full time. I love my career.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HEROES AND WHY?
I’m my own hero. I learned from a young age that if you want something, you often have to figure out how to get it yourself. Everything I have achieved in life has been a result of my own hard work and self motivation. Also, my daughter, she’s a badass small human.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF FIGHTING?
I love to cook, read, eat, and spend time with my family. I’m passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoy training/competing and teaching our all-women’s class. Teaching is the best way to learn.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON FIGHTING FOR INVICTA FC?
It’s an honor to be fighting for the biggest all-women MMA organization in the world! I’m super excited for the opportunity to grow and showcase my skills at a higher level. I love the challenge that MMA presents. I love fighting, but most of all, I love entertaining, motivating, and inspiring others.
WHEN FIGHT FANS HEAR YOUR NAME, WHAT DO YOU WANT THEM TO THINK AND REMEMBER?
I’m sure I’ll be remembered for a lot of things, by those who remember me. But there is one thing I know I don’t want to be remembered for… I don’t ever want anyone to be able to look back at any one of my fights and remember a time when I gave up. I don’t give up.
