5 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT JILLIAN DECOURSEY
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY OF TRAINING LIKE?
Training doesn’t change much for me from whether I’m in fight camp or not, I mainly just increase the intensity level and add a few extra training sessions with more and harder sparring rounds. Since I train hard all the time we don’t have to make drastic changes which makes adjusting to fight camp that much easier. A typical training day for me looks something like this: Wake up go for a run, then head to the gym for MMA specific drills and workouts then do some bjj technique and sparring, then its straight to strength and conditioning, take a few hour break come back in the evening for striking drills, bjj / mma and sparring. Then wake up the next day and do it all over again. Typically I spend about 7hrs a day training 5-6 days a week.
WHAT GOT YOU INTO MARTIAL ARTS?
I was an athlete all my life, played every sport you could think of growing up, fell in love with Basketball got a scholarship, played in college, and then after college I needed something else to master so I found bjj, muay thai, and mma, and instantly found my new love.
